Hair Transplant Cost at Harley Street

Our FUE pricing starts from £3,000 for small cases that don’t need many hair follicles to be transplanted as the surface area of hair loss to be covered is small, and can go up to £7,000 for larger cases where the requirement is for a larger number of hair follicles to be transplanted as the surface area of hair loss to be covered is large. Both FUT and DHI are +£1,000.

All initial consultation are free of charge. The price includes the surgeon fees, operating theatre costs, the pre-surgery care as well as the aftercare kit, any medications that are needed and the aftercare follow-up sessions. There is also finance available.

We have developed a useful hair graft calculator tool where you can select an area(s) of hair loss along with the density per cm2 and it will provide you with a rough guide of the amount of grafts and hairs required. For a rough guide on the cost per graft, please see below:

• Cost of 500 grafts – between £3,000 – £3,500 depending on difficulty.
• Cost of 1000 grafts – between £4,000 – £4,500 depending on difficulty.
• Cost of 1500 grafts – between £4,500 – £5,000 depending on difficulty.
• Cost of 2000 grafts – between £5,500 – £6,000 depending on difficulty.
• Cost of 2500 grafts – between £6,000 – £6,500 depending on difficulty.
• Cost of 3000 grafts – between £6,500 – £7,000 depending on difficulty and if the donor allows for it.
• Cost of 4000 grafts – between £10,00 – £11,000 depending on difficulty and if the donor allows for it. This is a 2 stage procedure.
• Cost of 5000 grafts – between £12,000 – £14,000 depending on difficulty and if the donor allows for it. This is a 2 stage procedure.

The cost per graft exists for patients to be able to quantify what they are paying for although in reality there can never be a “true cost per graft” as in our experience, graft numbers never come out in round numbers. For example one of our patients (Gerard) got told that he would receive roughly 1800 grafts but the actual graft numbers were 1804.

FUE Hair Transplant Cost

The follicular unit extraction (or fue) procedure is the most common one as it’s the latest and best hair transplant procedure where individual hairs (or hair follicles) are taken from the donor area and transplanted to the areas of hair loss. It takes time and skill from our surgeon and team. The majority of our procedures are done via this method and the average cost is around £5,500 currently.

FUT Hair Transplant Cost

The FUT procedure costs more than an FUE hair transplant by around £500 – £1,000 extra due to the extra costs of requiring an extra hair technician and extra equipment such as more advanced microscopes and tools to take the strip our from the donor area as well as suture the area. The average cost of an FUT hair transplant is around £6,000.

DHI Hair Transplant Cost

The cost of a DHI hair transplant is similar in nature to an FUT hair transplant meaning that it costs around £500 – £1,000 more than an FUE hair transplant. This is because it is fully surgeon performed and because of the extra cost of the implanter tool called a choi pen that is used when implanting the extracted grafts. The downside is that due to it being slower, only small to medium sized areas can be treated. The average cost of a DHI hair transplant is around £6,000.

Unshaven Hair Transplant Cost

The cost of an unshaven or partially shaven hair transplant will be slightly higher than normal because of the complexity of the procedure and the extra time and effort required. Also the number of grafts that can be transplanted are limited to 2,000 as the procedure takes longer than a fully shaven one.
